Caroline McHugh - lead vocals - England to Montana, age 37
Caroline was born and raised in Birmingham England. Caroline has always been surrounded by music from such an early age. Her father, a musician has worked in show bands from a teenager up to the present day. It came as no big surprise when Caroline decided that she also wanted to pursue a musical career and decided to take a similar route in life, but striving to take it to the highest possible level.
Caroline started her singing career in her early 20's, although she always sang as a child, entertaining her parent's family and friends as she held pride of place on an old radiogram singing in to a kettle lead.
Caroline decided that her ambition in life was to pursue a career in music. Vocal training was a must, so at the age of 20, Caroline found her self a vocal coach, this was the beginning of a truly amazing time for Caroline, as she discovered new vocal techniques that brought her singing to another level as she trained classically and a confidence that to date keeps growing.
She started singing with her father's band; this would be the first performance, performing to a live audience on stage.
Caroline started singing Irish Country music, with her father's band. Both parents hail from the Emerald Isle.
Caroline stayed working the Irish scene for ten enjoyable years, working clubs all over the UK.
Caroline decided it was time to take a new direction in her music career. She met her husband in 1999, Patrick McGrath who also happens to be local musician; Pat is the lead Guitarist in the Salt Creek Band. They married in 2003 and also in that year they formed their duo.
Caroline and Pat had dreamed of performing in the Usa with the help of there good friend Rudy Grant there dreams were about to become reality as they took to the skies and landed in Denver for there first ever American tour.
On their return of the Usa tour, Caroline and Pat decided to form the Salt creek Band, Caroline managed to keep two of her old band players, the bassist Steve Heffernan and her drummer Ingrid Bromley. The band rehearsed hard then it was time to bring the band on the road, covering all major festivals throughout the UK, country music clubs and theatres.
Since 2005 she has performed the Usa twice once with her husband once with The Salt Creek.
Caroline's voice has been played all over the airways in Europe and faraway. She has picked up several trophies for outstanding performances. Caroline will be happy to speak with any one who wants to pop over and see her and make new friends. Also there will be a cd for promotion available.
